Best Electric Cars, Dyson Won't Be One of Them

Vacuum maker Dyson abandoned its efforts to enter the electric car market this week. Unable to find a way to make it "commercially viable" and unable to find a buyer, the project will power down soon.

Ineluctably, the market is moving toward electric vehicles (EVs), but getting there requires commitment and economic stamina. Volkswagen plans to spend tens of billions of dollars to get there, for example, with the likes of stablemate Porsche poised to deliver sports cars designed to unseat Tesla's leadership position.
