The Week in Autonomy: NY Auto Show Kicks Off

By John R. Quain

The New York Auto Show gets underway this week and by way of comparison to previous shows it feels a little perfunctory. There are few major debuts, with some major luxury models already revealed at the March show in Geneva, and there's less electricity in the air--with the exception of EV startup Rivian and a handful of electric hypercars.

There was a distinct paucity of technology, and talk of autonomous vehicles was muted, to say the least. Still, there's plenty to gawk at this week, from classic cars to silly monstrosities. For a preview, check out the highlights with our slide show.
